Cycling heroes!

While several of us were at the Ranskill Scarecrow Festival on Saturday, 9th June, one of our members, Scott, and his friend Gary, did a sponsored 75 mile cycle ride for our local hospice, starting and finishing at the Club’s HQ in Worksop

There was no Saturday morning sleep-in for Debbie, Fundraiser for Bassetlaw Hospice or David, Leader of Bassetlaw District Council who came to see them off at 8.15am – pictured here with the cycle ride support team.

Scott and Gary completed the ride in 6 and three-quarter hours having made 2 stops along the way one of which was to call in to see us at the Ranskill Scarecrow Festival.

Big Red Tent on Tour – part 2

Our Big Red Tent had its second outing of the year on Saturday, 9th June when we attended the Ranskill Scarecrow Festival to promote Amateur Radio as a hobby for all.  We had a fantastic day. The weather, unlike last year, was perfect – warm and sunny all day, and we had  lots of visitors.

Big Red Tent on Tour!

Saturday, 26th May 2018 saw the first outing of the year for our Big Red Tent  when we attended a Family Gala organised by the Doncaster Central branch of the Royal British Legion. Tom, who is currently their Chairman (and also one of our members) asked if we could take along our gazebo and some radios. We never need asking twice! The weather was kind – warm and sunny for a change – and we had a steady stream of visitors throughout the day. We’ll be out doing it all again on 9th June, this time at the Ranskill Scarecrow Festival
