AGM Awards Night 2019
Its always great to see people picking up awards, and at this year’s Annual General Meeting we had quite a few.
Martin (M0ZMF) Awards – Pat Pictured being awarded the Harold Chadwick G8ON Memorial Cup.
This is given annually for outstanding service to the Worksop Amateur Radio Society.
For those of you who don’t know Harold was a founder member of the Radio Society.
Harold was also a founder member of North Notts Amateur Radio Society – which became the Worksop Amateur Radio Society.
Harold Chadwick – interesting to note that he was a Rotarian and a member of ROAR (Rotarians of Amateur Radio) and in 1969 set up a transatlantic net on 15 metres with George Chatfield K1UIL
You can find additional information about ROAR (Rotarians of Amateur Radio) by visiting the following website https://www.ifroar.org/
Martin awarding Andy M6VUK/2E0SUK/M? with a Cup and Certificate of achievement.
The cup is for the person who has shown most progress in the past year.
It was last awarded in 2016 to Lewis.
This year it’s being awarded to Andy for achieving success in all 3 exam levels in under 18 months.
For my part it was a pleasure to have Andy as a member of the Intermediate Licence Course, to have someone put so much hard work in makes the job worthwhile.
Andy is also out in all weathers to take park in the UKACs on behalf of the Worksop Amateur Radio Society and also finds the time to support all of our activities.
Martin Awarding Andy G1AW, for his contribution to Radio Society Activities. Also for his Progression in the Hobby and for his hard work in the Promotion of POTA (Parks on the Air).
Andy is the English administrator for Parks on the Air (POTA) and had been working very hard to get all the sites in Wales Active.
In addition to which he has taken up the Intermediate Training at very short notice.

Martin (M0ZMF) awarding Scot (2E0 KBZ) for his contribution to the Radio Society Activities and his progression in the Hobby.
Martin M0ZMF Presents Dean M7DUK, with a certificate for his contributions to Radio Society Activities and Progression in the hobby.
Lastly for our AGM awards, Martin (M0ZMF) awarding Donna M7DON – for her contribution to the Amateur Radio Society and progression in the Hobby.
One of Donna’s many achievements was being the leading Foundation Licence holder in the resent 70MHz AFS contest
I hope Donna will not mind me saying that her first quote about Amateur Radio was “I am not getting involved that’s for nerds!”
However, after joining her partner Andy (pictured right) at our /P in the Park event, she was hooked.
